Nichola Scrutton
Nichola Scrutton is an award-winning composer, vocalist and artist who works across a range of mediums and processes including sound and soundscape composition, performance, improvisation and drawing. Nichola was awarded a PhD in Electroacoustic Composition from University of Glasgow in 2009, which was funded by the AHRC.
Nichola's work has been broadcast internationally and she has extensive experience as a collaborator in interdisciplinary and participatory contexts. Ongoing threads in the work include breath and voice, body and presence, materiality, and interweaving ideas of inner/outer experience through real, fictional, or re-imagined sound and visual abstract landscapes.
