Aileen Harvey
Aileen Harvey is an artist, researcher and mother. She makes drawings, objects or photographs that consider relationships to place. She often makes her own art materials, from substances that relate to her subject matter, and concocts processes that echo geology, weather and growth.
Aileen studied philosophy (at Edinburgh and Cambridge) and then sculpture (at Wimbledon), and she finds that the subjects inform one another. Exhibitions include: The Photographers' Gallery, London; An Lanntair, Stornoway; Karussell, Zürich; Bernard Leach Gallery, St Ives; and Customs House Gallery, Sunderland. She has published journal articles, book chapters, and an artist's book. She lives in London.
